Julip smiling with a messy shirt and full belly
-Our first baby girl, Julip, was born
-We got our first car
-My brother Davis married the love of his life, Anna
-We celebrated our first year of marriage!
-Julip was baptized!
-Julip went to her first Ole Miss game (We lost...sad day)
-We moved from our small apartment to our small house
-My cousin Carter announced his wifey, Kim, is with child (due on Ju's birthday!)
-We visited Germany and Austria (thanks Mimi and BoBo)
-Dustin accepted his new job offer (woop, woop)
-I finished my first semester of nursing with all A's (Dustin made me write that!)
-Dustin completed more seminary classes AND started his MBA
-We made friends with some pretty incredible people (you know who you are!)
We celebrated the new year with a yummy meal of shrimp and grits. (We got the shrimp free from Earth Fare!) Of course, we had to eat our black eyed peas per usual and finished off some carrot soufflé leftovers. There may have been a little bubbly as well.
Black eyed peas, carrot soufflé, free shrimp, and garlic cheese grits! It doesn't look as yummy as it tasted.
Waiting patiently for mommy and daddy.
Dustin's girls!
We also thought through some goals for the upcoming year. We like to set practical goals (so we don't disappoint ourselves if we don't meet them) ...like:
-Spending more time together as a family
-Welcoming Julip's baby cousin into the world
-Taking even MORE pictures/videos (D laughs at this one... we only have thousands already)
-Sticking even closer to our tight budget
-(Possibly) buying our first home!
-Steadily advancing through nursing school
-Having more friends and family over
-Taking family getaways
-Having more date nights
-Celebrating Julip's first birthday with a PAR-TAY
-Increasing our giving!
I feel good typing those out. yea.
As for YOU, expect to see a handmade home tour, Julip's first birthday, someone finally saying "Momma" and "Dada", and much much more on this here blog!
2011, you're starting to look really good!
With all the love in the world,
the Jernigans, xoxo
P.S. Dustin is our budgeter (I just stick to the rules). He keeps track of, literally, every single penny we bring in and spend! We have been blessed immensely over the past year financially... in ways we never expected. Dustin always reminds me that God doesn't provide more money to increase our standard of Living, but to increase our standard of Giving! What a great principle to live by and resolution to consider!
