Exploring

When Dustin and I think about how we want to spend our time, usually, almost always, it involves being outside. We are explorers at heart... but we are a little different from your average adventurers. You see, Dustin and I don't want adrenaline rushes. We aren't thrill seekers. We don't like risking our lives... or going fast... or living on the wild side. We are a little more boring than that. We like hiking!

It's funny because when Dustin was interviewed by the students at our church during the process, one student asked, "What do you do for fun to get your adrenaline pumping?" It was so funny watching Dustin's face, knowing he was just trying to figure a way to answer the question without sounding totally lame.

We like leisurely canoeing down a river. Fishing in a stream. Biking down to town. Hiking!

(Dustin does enjoy mountain biking. I love skiing. We both like rock climbing. There. We have some "rushing" hobbies!)

Here is a little bit of our time from Dustin's day off this week.

Can you see some icicles?

The handsome man...

 The sleeping beauty...

 And little Jubie!

Today and yesterday were spent differently. Poor Dustin has come down with the stomach bug and has been quarantined to our bedroom. I told him he is not to leave that room (and he hadn't for two days!). It's so hard knowing he is in there and not being able to go cuddle with him. Thankfully, he's showing signs of getting better today and we girls have been spared from the bug thus far.

The first card Dustin ever wrote me (given to me on Valentines day) said, "Will you go exploring with me?" I hope we never stop exploring together!

Much love,
Caro

On a totally different note, Dustin was interviewed on the latest podcast our church released. If you'd like to listen to him share his heart for youth ministry, click here for the link! The more I hear my husband talk, the more and more I fall in love with him... what a guy!
