Happy Love Day

I didn't realize it when I was getting dressed this morning, but I put on the exact same outfit I wore on Valentines Day in 2009, when our relationship all began! Dustin had planned for a special all-day-long date... and it was the day we let everyone know we were "officially in love"!

We look so fresh! I literally have on the same outfit. And Dustin hasn't worn a v-neck since! haha
2009

In an earnest attempt to keep me around, Dustin told me he'd buy a book called Must See Mississippi if I decided not to transfer to a far away college. So on Valentines day four years ago, we started our journey of exploring Mississippi historical sites together! We saw Windsor Ruins, Alcorn State's Oakland Chapel, First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson, and many other special places. In each picture we took to add to our book, we were kissing! But we were always kissing... :)

Since then, Dustin and I have seen many many historical sites. We made our way through quite a number of places in our special book, but have gone even further visiting countries together, making a home together in six different houses including four different states. Dustin has attended one university and four different seminaries, and I've attended five different universities. We've had two daughters and many memorable family adventures. However, my favorite site I've seen throughout our relationship is the site of his head on the pillow next to mine, two coffee cups to pour on the kitchen counter, and his smile at the end of a long day.

It's a very strange thing, this mystery called love, but the more and more I know Dustin and see his heart, the more and more I'm in love with who he is and where God is taking him. I am still so amazed that he chose me to be his bride! And I'm so honored to have a front row seat watching him grow in the Lord and become all he was made to be!

I love you Dustin! Thank you for speaking truth into my life each and every day. Thank you for calling me out of my sin in the most gracious, encouraging way and challenging me to turn from my hardened, isolating nature. Thank you for loving me and washing me with the water of the Word. I can't imagine where I would be if you hadn't first loved me...

I love all those grey hairs we girls have added to your curly hair! :)
