the sun on her skin

My dearest friend Holly- whom I could talk to all day long about everything and still feel like I haven't talked to her enough and have so much more we need to discuss- sent me some pictures she found from our joint family vacation at the beach from late summer. This trip was both Julip and Eloise's introduction to open sea, vast horizon, and sandy white beaches. I cannot even begin to tell you what an incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating time it was for all of us. It rained nearly the entire trip... which was perfect for lazy mornings, a nursing baby, intense games of Settlers of Catan, and an incredible voyage into creating seafood feasts with my favorite chef (Holly, of course)! And a special thank you to the lady I'd love to be more and more like, Robin, who invited us to spend our vacation at her beach house! (I love you!)

It's been so lovely looking back at these pictures during the final days of this chilly, crisp mountain winter... oh to have the sun on my skin.

Holly took this one unexpected swim after the rain had passed...

This girl loves sand!

Sunkissed hair!

Anytime the sun came out, we grabbed everything and ran to the beach!

Sweet time with Daddy-boy (that's what Julip calls him sometimes.)

2/3rds of my heart sitting in that beach chair.

We splurged on fresh seafood every night... but at the beach, it's what you eat, right? And it was soooo gooood!

These two are the best!

I can't wait to see what future adventures our families go on. And I can't wait to reminisce and share with you!

with love,
Caro

P.S. I can't find any photos of Elo at the beach! oops! She nearly slept the entire trip! If I find one, I'll update the post with one!
