Fairies and Gnomes

Our little Julibelle recently turned three years old... sigh. Everytime someone asks how old she is, she'll say, "Three. And my daddy is so sad." I always have to explain that her daddy (and mommy) are just sad because she's growing up so quickly. But we're happy, too. She truly is blooming into a little girl! We love watching her grow...

There is nothing more attractive than the man you love wearing your baby! :)

For Julip's party, we set up a table at our local, very magical woodland park. It's complete with a flowing stream running through it along with multiple wooden play structures... just magical. Julip is totally in a fairy stage right now, and I couldn't imagine anything else that would bring her as much joy as a fairy birthday party. But, since we invited boys, too, we made it a fairy and gnome party! (Everything was inspired from my dear friend Katy McCann from our Huntsville days :))

This was Julip's first birthday where I made her something sweet! (Yes, I'm one of those moms). She begged for cupcakes! So I made her some banana sweetened coconut muffins with a buttercream icing. She loved them! And I loved that they weren't loaded down with sugar.

Two sweet fairies flying down the slide

Julip's hilarious friend Jack excited about his cupcake!

He really loved his cupcake... I have about 20 pictures of him eating it all throughout the park!

He looks like a little gnome doing a jig in this picture! haha

Sweet new fairy friend!

That tongue! (See Jack's big brother Will in the background? He's super funny, too!)

See... just magical! Perfect setting for finding a fairy!

Sweet Susu came just for Ju's birthday! and I couldn't have pulled the party off without her help!

Will refused to wear his gnome hat until the very end... clearly, he thinks it's ridiculous, haha! (And YES, he and his family are Ole Miss fans! We're in good company!)

Susu and I made gnome hats and fairy flower crowns as party favors.

And I dressed up some noise maker/party blower thingies, too.

We made hedgehog almond cookies that were pretty delicious, thankfully! (Most recipes I try aren't too tasty the first time around.)

And the rest of the spread had sticks (sesame sticks) , seeds & nuts, and bark (crackers). We also made toadstools out of tomatoes and mozzarella.

It was a pretty fun party and I was sad when it was all over! I wanted it to last forever! :)

Sweet Old Gran also came along with Susu (a 10+ hour drive)...

I'm pretty sure she asked a couple of times if she could take sweet Eloise home with her. :)

And now we have a three year old!

with love,
Caro
