My tiniest girl is just growing up too quickly! She is already five and a half months old... sigh. She just barely has a baby smell to her. And I just continue to fall more and more in love with her.
She smiles at me (and everyone else) all the time. She loves to smile. And she giggled for the first time recently. And my heart melted. Even Julip had a hand in making her laugh for the first time... but Daddy makes the girls laugh to the point of not being able to catch a breath. He even tickles me nearly everyday and calls it "mandatory laughter". I love that man, the father of my two girls!
I was so worried that no other baby of ours would ever sleep quite as well as Julip always has, and, I can't believe I'm saying this, but Eloise is such a sleepy head. We Jernigans must possess some sleep gene... I love watching her sleep. She looks so peaceful.
This was one morning... I found her in the same position as I had put her down.
Julip is still doing great as a big sister. We have had a few moments, as all families do with a little one around. Most of the time Julip wants to be overly involved with helping me... like trying to pick Eloise up or wanting to push her in the stroller. Julip's a great big sister. She's only tried to feed her piping hot oatmeal once and only poked Eloise in the eye a handful of times! (Oh brother!)
And Eloise has teeth coming in! She has some buds on the bottom I felt just the other day! Anytime you put a hand even remotely close to eloise's mouth she tries to eat it... she loves chewing on fingers! It's pretty sweet. Like with Julip, I most likely will not introduce solids for another few months... we'll play it by ear, but I'm in no hurry whatsoever!
I love my girls.
with love, momma Caro
