She's Climbing!

Dustin and I (and Julip) our looking for a place to live! This is not the first time, of course. Since Dustin and I got married, I have moved four times (including moving all my stuff from my dorm to Dustin's for the first time). This upcoming move will be number five! Can I admit something? We don't like to move. However, we have gotten pretty good and can do it at lightening speed! This move will be very different. This move, God willing, will be the first time we move into a house we own! How scary, exciting, daunting, thrilling, vulnerable, and ecstatic this is for our young family!

Walking up the driveway to our future home. JUST KIDDING! This is the World's Fair Pavilion at Forest Park!

All this to say, yesterday we were looking at a house! We have actually looked at this house about five times now, ha. It has made it to the top of the list! It is a cute house owned by a man who's wife passed away. Based on how well he has kept and cared for the house, we think he was planning on sharing this home with his wife forever. Now that it is just him, he's looking for a fresh start. The house has been updated and meticulously cared for, and we love it! Something about it is magical!

Jubie taking a break from walking so much.

Dustin and I were in the backyard talking when suddenly, I noticed Julip was climbing! She had walked to the small fort and was on her way up the steps! We surely didn't teach her this... must be instinctive! I was definitely a climber (and still am)!

She looks SO proud!

I love what Dustin said near the end, "That's what your daddy's for!"

She is 14 months TODAY! I can see how her personality has changed just in the past few months. She even looks older! She is so mobile and independent now. As soon as I pick her up, she wants down to walk, which is fine with me since she is now 23 whopping pounds. Julip loves yelling "Dah-dee" and "Hi!" and loves telling everyone "buh-buy" all the time. It is music to my ears. Still no "mama" yet, but I don't mind waiting a little longer. During the day, I pretty much let Julip explore our house freely. As long as I can hear her, she's fine. But when it gets quiet, I know she's up to something.

Julip's first scraped knee. Poor baby. I also had to get a splinter out. What a hard life toddlers have!

Remember how we had a poopy (or lack of) problem before? Well, I did some research and changed her diet. Julip now eats a mixture of all sorts of food. The base is always a grain (rolled oats, steal cut oats, brown rice, or sprouted lentils (I know lentils aren't a grain)) and homemade yogurt. Then, I just start going crazy! I'll add carrots, beets, peas, pears, apples, chicken, lamb, zucchinis, apricots, prunes, spinach, watercress, broccoli, eggs and anything else to her cereal/yogurt. She loves it and will eat it right up! And now, she's pooping for sure!

Just to refresh your memory, this is what Julip looked like right before Easter last year!

Our little Julibelle is definitely a toddler now! This is such a fun age!

with love,
