Did you chew on your toes? WHAT? Well, I'm not crazy for asking....some people did!
On a different note, unswaddling has been a success! I know this may seem funny, but I really was worried about transitioning Julip to sleeping freely. If you think about it, it's one of the only securities she knows. She slept swaddled everyday. My plan was to gradually wean her. But because she was far stronger than that, once, never failing velcro, "gradually" turned into "cold turkey" really fast! So, we decided to put her down when she was very sleepy at night...unswaddled. She went to sleep. Then I fed her one last time around 10:30 pm, and she slept till about 3:30 am. Then we heard her our little bird talking. We let her "cry it out" for about 15 minutes, and thankfully she went back to sleep until about 8:30 am! Success!
Showing us her pushup!
I'm still a little uncomfortable about unswaddling her. I would always put her down in the middle of her crib on her back and find her there in the exact same spot. But now, I'll find her on her tummy on the far end of the crib against the railings with one arm hanging out... I know this is normal, but it still worries me.
A rested baby is a happy baby. With a cute scrunched nose! :)
Helping a baby sleep is difficult, although worth it. No one wants to hear their sweet baby cry. But thankfully, after a few hard nights, Julip slept through her habitual wake times, resulting in a good night sleep (for everyone!). This may change once she starts cutting some serious teethies. Until then, sweet dreams!
A sleepy baby, ready for bedtime. Getting in some last minute cuddling with daddy and monster.
With all the love in the universe,
the Jernigans, all three!
P.S. Happiest of birthdays to my sweet bestie Ellen! Have a spectacular day dear!
