This is a blog of celebration! First of all, Julip slept from 9pm to 7am last night…straight! Hallelujah! After dinner and a movie, we bathed her and fed her and off to sleep she went! It was so nice to have peace and quiet, knowing she was just sleeping away! I expected to wake up around 2 or 4 but the “alarm” never went off; Julip didn’t make a peep! This would be an incredible night routine…maybe we can start a habit! How nice that would be!
This past weekend, we celebrated Julip’s baptism! It was such an incredible day! All last week, we studied baptism and covenants and it was so nice to practice this sacrament to honor our Father! We started the morning sharing our testimony with the youth group for a “dating, engagement, and marriage” panel! We didn’t know how much we were going to share but after seeing how the discussion was going, I mouthed to Dustin, “Spill it!”, and we did! Then Dustin ran off to play guitar for the service and I got Julip ready! They called us forward to ask us the questions, the church committed, and she was baptized! It was glorious! Neither one of us could hold back tears…how wonderful to celebrate the covenant God made with His people! And a spectacular sermon followed up the baptism by Jean Larroux of Lagniappe Presbyterian Church in Bay St. Louis! (He’s also an Ole Miss grad!) He titled it Bad People make Good Missionaries and boy, was it encouraging! What a great day for the gospel!

Accomplished with no screams to my amazement and relief!
If you have 45 min. I’d like to encourage YOU to listen to it! …Also, if you are asking, “Baptism? Why did they baptize their infant?”, and are interested in finding out why and what we believe, have no fear! Dustin wrote a long, but thorough two part explanation that I would love to pass on to anyone interested. Just message me via text, email, or facebook and I’d be happy to send you a copy! It’s very well written, super clear and even encouraging, if I do say so myself!
What a great picture of these happy girls!

Some of our family came to share the special day with us! Eric was there, of course, and BoPop and Mimi came too! To help celebrate the day more appropriately, they brought Julip a gift…a tiny blue bible, her FIRST! And it has her sweet name engraved! J They are always so thoughtful! And Susu brought Old Grandmother all the way from Crystal Springs, Ms! They spent the weekend with us just touring Huntsville and visiting! For my upcoming birthday, my mom bought me some pots, soil and plants! (You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to grow things on our balcony! I’m so happy!) We planted arugula, zucchini, squash, dahlias, strawberries, zinnias, and an assortment of wild English flowers we picked up while visiting the great ole island last year! So far, all are growing very well! Fingers crossed!
Planting on the porch while Gran gets some baby time!
And lastly, we are celebrating Julip making it through her two-month check up! Which basically means she survived four shots! Poor baby! I have been dreading sweet Julibelle getting these for so long…but know it’s necessary. Sigh. But she did indeed survive…better than I did, at least! Also, we found out she weighs 11 lbs and 12 oz and is 24” long! Growing, GROWing, GROWING! (momma and daddy are sad, sad, sad…) But happy she’s so healthy! We also found out she is in the 85% for her height but in the 25% for her weight…I’m telling you, she really is long and skinny! And guess what, our baby has a big head J…39.5 cm puts her in the 98%! Funny little girl! Thank you for praying for our little girl! And just a funny to tell you, after watching a special on “Octomom”- mother of 14, Dustin looked at me and said, “We could handle another!” I think he’s tired of so many girls and wants baby Eli, our next one, to come on! Haha
Something else we will soon be celebrating is DAVIS AND ANNA’S WEDDING! They are getting married on May 15! How exciting! We’re definitely looking forward to their covenantal union…it’ll also make traveling and camping much easier! J
Most everyone who reads this blog is either from school, church, or college… which means, most of you will also know the Pearce family! Becky was the lovely librarian at NWRMS, and C.L. graduated from NWR, went to church with us, and worked at Belhaven. He is currently serving as a missionary in India with his wife and baby girl! Which also means, Mrs. Becky is here in the US away from her only child, her only daughter-in-law, and her first and only grandbaby, all who she loves dearly! Obviously, there are many ways we can lift them up in prayer! Let’s pray for C.L, Kirsten, and Eva as the continue sharing the good news! And also lift up Mrs. Becky as she fully depends on the Lord for peace in her heart and safety for her loved ones!
My attempt at an Indian meal in honor of the Pearces...twas delish!
Another prayer request is for one of my favorite brothers in the world, Jeremy Snowden, whose apartment tragically burned down this month! Now, if you know Jeremy, you know he’s not one to have many things…however, he has lost basically everything to his name! Prayer is appreciated, of course, but if you’d like to help in other ways (i.e. donations) PLEASE let me know and I can give you an address for him! Thanks!
The Jernigans, all three!

She is so cute in her baptism gown. And holding onto her blanket. love it! And the swimsuit with the shades is just adorable. I can't believe she's so big already.
I think we are now planning to come visit when Anna McDowell gets married on the 23rd, so hopefully we'll see all 3 of you then.
WOO HOO, We would so love that Vanessa! Please visit! We want to see y'all, too! I may have some questions for you about the next few stages... :)
