If I haven't yet convinced you to sign up for a CSA, let me just mention again how much I love ours! Each and every Friday I get so excited to receive our box of veggies and carton of fresh delicious eggs. This has been such a blessing to our family as we've gotten to eat seasonal, healthy, and scrumptious fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs each week. If you're interested in finding one in your area go HERE or google "CSA in (enter city name)" and see what comes up!
CSA goods three weeks ago. (I accidentally forgot to take one last week! eek!) Tomatoes, carrots, pear tomatoes, squash, turnips, husk berries, basil, and okra!
This weeks yummy veggies! More yummy tomatoes, squash, butternut squash, onions, potatoes, okra, bitter melon (funny looking thing, huh?) and basil! :)
Oh, and the rare Julibelle was found in our share this week, too. She is a pretty flavorful mixture of both sweet and sour. Sometimes a little tough but mostly tender! :)
Speaking of veggies, we've been doing lots of watering. We've been out to the garden with the hose at least twice a day keeping those seeds hydrated. Surprisingly, we already have some sprouts!
watering, watering, watering, photographing with one hand. Out of focus. Yea.
Brassica oleracea. Broccoli.
Brassica oleracea. Cauliflower.
Pisum sativum. Snap peas. Do you see them all in a row?
Other things we find alive and growing in the garden include...
Vitis vinifera. Grapes. These are concords!
Solanum lycopersicum. Tomatoes.
Rubus strigosus. Raspberries.
Capsicum annuum. Red Bell Pepper.
Humanus julibellsium. Julip.
Oryctolagus cuniculus. Bunny.
Prettious flowersium. Pretty flowers.
Differentus viewus. Same pretty flowers.
Hansomous dustinum. Man of mine.
Helianthus annus. Sunflower! (See Dustin strolling Julip?)
One day last week I locked myself out of the house when we went watering. Thankfully, Julip was with me. Thankfully, her reflection in the window was enough to keep her entertained. She kissed herself a lot.
She makes me laugh so much!
She kept popping her head out of the back and saying, "HELLO!" So cute.
Beauty truly abounds. Get out and take some pictures with your camera and your eyes. Enjoy the Sabbath. God is so good! :)
with love,
Momma Jernigan
