The big yard near our house where our future garden will be!
There are so many bunnies in the yard! I think that's what Julip's looking at in this photo.
Our little girl is growing like a weed... well, more like a beautiful flower. Yesterday, little Jubie turned 17 months old. I cannot believe it (I say that every time, ha). It is crazy to think of her when she was so little she couldn't do anything on her own. Now she's walking, talking (some), climbing on furniture and up the stairs, running through the house, peeping through our mail slot, making a mess, eating on her own (kinda), and making more of a mess. She is becoming more and more independent everyday!
"Where did Momma and Dada go?"
Such a beautiful baby girl.
What is Julip eating? She is eating basically whatever we eat at meals. She surprises me with what she likes and doesn't like. For example, this little girl will not eat bananas, however, she will gobble down shrimp like a
flamingo! If we want her to eat strawberries we have to give her the inside of the strawberries because she'll spit out the seedy part because of its texture. But more than anything in this world, Julip loves peanut butter. When she hears or sees the refrigerator opening, she'll run and squeal for her peanut butter jar (why is it in the fridge? tis organic). When she gives us a hard time about eating her meal, we will tempt her with peanut butter followed by a spoonful of her food. A momma's got to do what a momma's got to do, right? She's still nursing (which may be the one thing she likes more than peanut butter) and still eating her pureed food throughout the day, too. This may be why she's growing, growing, growing!
Something about this picture makes her look so grown up!
She's like a little girl now... not a tiny baby anymore.
Julip now has a mouthful of teeth! I'm not even sure how many because she won't let us see. She'll quickly bite us if we put our fingers in her mouth. (I think I'd do the same if people were sticking their fingers in my mouth.) I do know she's getting her bicuspid and premolars (I just took a test on teeth, can you tell?). She's been a little clingy and whiney and I'm thinking that her teeth are the reason. Hopefully, all of her milk teeth will be in soon!
Playing in the yard. Look at all the room for gardening!!!
She's been saying the word I've been waiting for for so long: MOMMA! It's music to my ears! She also started saying "bubbles" recently. She'll say, "Go, go, go" every time she climbs the stairs, and the other day she repeated, "blue" and "yellow" while we were reading a book about colors! We are trying to teach her to count, say "peanut butter", and "I love you". I read in my human growth and development book that a baby usually says 200 words by 18 months. I think I laughed out loud because we have a long way to go this month!
Learning her ABCs... well....
In our new house, Julip sleeps upstairs. She's been climbing the stairs everyday and is learning to come down safely on her own (with me spotting, of course). She has also figured out how to climb on our (new) sofa and other furniture. I'm hoping she doesn't find a way to escape from her crib... yikes!
I'm that mom that slides down the slides with their kiddo. Isn't that why there are two slides side-by-side?
I'm not sure how much she weighs, but she is heavy! And I'm not sure how tall she is, but she's definitely taller! :) We're searching out a doctor here in St. Louis and will hopefully get her stats shortly.
Remember when she sat in this thing?
Remember when she'd only sleep in this thing? That was forever ago!
Julip loves to hug her stuffed animals as she's going to sleep. She sleeps with four or more, silly girl. She'll also give kisses when she's being sweet. And every now and then, she'll be still enough to lie (lay?) down with you and just relax and cuddle. Those are such sweet moments!
Just a'swingin.
We've been going to the park regularly and playing in the splash area to stay cool. (Isn't this summer hot?) Dustin bought me a bike for my birthday (it is AWESOME!) and got Julip a seat so we can go riding. She enjoys the ride to the park and even scratched my back last time we went. It was so cute!
She's always more interested in the other kids, not the water.
She'll tell me to, "go, go, go!" haha
Little Julibelle is just becoming a big girl so fast. Growing like a flower. Julibelle sounds like a flower, doesn't it?
Happy Tuesday!
love,
Caro, xoxo
