Julip in Bullets

*As Julip has grown, her personality has developed and blossomed into quite a cute character. I thought I'd highlight a few funny things she does to remember forever and always...

*Julip has pincers. She constantly "threatens" her pincers on your nose, jewelry, freckles and even eyelashes. It's really cute, but be forwarned, they can do damage! I think it shows she has good hand-eye coordination (maybe she'll be an artist).

*Julip loves to suddenly throw herself backwards. Like...when you're holding her, she will throw her head backwards and arch her back so she can see the world upside down. It's so funny. People always laugh when I'm walking through the store with an upside down baby... Oh Julip!

*Julip is... what's the word.... easily distracted? To say it nicely, she's very aware of her surroundings. When she's supposed to be focusing (which is usually when she's nursing) she will hear the slightest sound and must find the source. 

*Julip is happiest when she first wakes up in the morning. She is like a little ray of sunshine! When I hear her first chirps, I usually wait about 15 minutes to give her plenty of time to adjust. Once I go in there she is usually singing a sweet little song and jumping up and down in her crib. I hope that never changes!

*Julip thinks spitting is a game. When I put food on her tray she usually picks it up, puts it in her mouth, and after sucking out the flavor she spits it right out! My new technique of getting food in her belly is by putting it on the tip of her sippy cup... I hope this doesn't last forever. 

*Julip loves putting non-food items in her mouth. She loves to get my hair and put the tips in her mouth (?). She also loves to suck on strings. If she sees the smallest little thing on the floor, she will pick it up and put it in her mouth. Her favorite things to put in her mouth are lent and paper. I have learned to retrieve these items very efficiently!

*Julip plays so nicely in her pack'n'play (my only way of finishing school this past semester). Regularly, I will see her standing up against the side and moving up and down. It looks like one of those bears scratching their back on a tree! It always makes me laugh. She also loves to squish her face against the mesh, ha!

*Julip loves to scrunch her nose and sniff. She does this to us very frequently. She also loves to stick her tongue out and blow. She just recently started gargling and growling. The sounds from her are endless!

*Julip for so long has resisted any hugging. She has always gotten kinda fussy if you tried to hold her too closely. But within the past month she has started relaxing and letting you hug and cuddle her for a few seconds. It is a great improvement, and it makes her mommy and daddy so happy!

*Julip is definitely a kisser now too! She loves to give big wet ones on the lips! Dustin is regularly under attack by the little slippery tongue of Julibelle!

*Julip is starting to learn some sign language. She has started picking up on milk and... that's about it! Obviously, as seen in the video, she can now clap on demand, too. We can ask her if she can clap and she will clap! Crazy to think her brain is starting to comprehend. 

*Julip is just now starting to understand how books work. She is interested in the pictures and will now help turn the pages. How does she know to do that? 

*Julip will always pull her bows out of her hair. As soon as you put it in place, she reaches up (sometimes on the wrong side) and those little pincers pull out the cute bow. Oh, well... 

*Julip has many nicknames. Each are appropriate to her particular behaviors. As I'm sure you've picked up by now we call her Julip, Ju, Ju-ju bug, Julibelle, Jemmaline, little lady, badgirl, little monster, Juli-ballerina, Julip Jernigan (sung in a little tune), Sunshine, and Jubie!
