I Can Hardly Say It....

but it's true. I'm sitting by this precious girl... she is trying with all her might to sit up, all by herself, too. Who is this girl? Is she really Julip? But Julip is just a baby...not a little girl. Yes, today marks five...FIVE! months of Julip's precious life!

Yes, she's sitting up... I'm speechless.

Not really, I have lots to say... so here we go: She weighs 15.6 pounds and is 27 inches long! And, let's see... She is beginning to master rolling over AND getting her one arm out from underneath her. She still doesn't so much enjoy being on her tummy, though. She LOVES to jump, jump, jump. She'll jump in her jumper, but also on her Bobo's tummy! She is not a baby anymore and doesn't like to be cradled, unless she's very sleepy. Instead, she prefers standing on your knees or sitting up. She's just now starting to attempt sitting on her own. Her attempts, although wholehearted, usually end with her face-planting into the floor. But she's definitely learning. She has learned to reach out for toys (and her momma's hair with a mighty firm grip). She's found her tongue and sticks it out and licks things/people whenever she can! She has been chewing on her fingers and my fingers and anyone's fingers near her mouth. We're expecting little teeeethies to start cutting through anytime now. When on her tummy she'll fly like a skydiver with her arms and legs all out at the same time, and it's quite cute! She's very, VERY, observant. She loves to look at anything and everything around her. If she hears the tiniest noise, she'll look for it. This has lengthened eating time quite a bit. But it has given us a new way of holding off a fussy baby by walking her around and letting her eyes explore. My favorite development of all is that she holds on to you like a monkey when you hold her! I love it! It melts my heart, for sure! We also very much enjoy that she gives us about 11 hours of sleep every night. Even though she doesn't look like her momma, she's definitely a sleepy head like me!

I never could quite relate to parents always saying how we "grow up too fast"... but it's true. I'll look back at this post the week of her wedding one day... I'm sure the keyboard will be catching my sobbing tears.
